Our Story

Action Physiotherapy in Brampton, ON was first started 20 years ago by a respected colleague Janet McDonald.

Action Physiotherapy first opened its doors over 20 years ago by a respected colleague and physiotherapist Janet McDonald. She had a passion for patient care that was truly inspirational. In 2005 Robert Kappes took over ownership of Action Physiotherapy. Prior to taking over, Robert had a part-time job at a different clinic that lasted only 3 months. He was required to see 8 patients an hour with the help of an assistant. The days were long and ultimately unrewarding as he had very little time with the patient as they would be swept away by the assistant and then put on machines. He knew this was not the place he wanted to work and quickly sought out a new position. A few short months later he was offered a chance to work with Janet and a couple months after that she offered him a chance to purchase the clinic.

Originally he turned down her offer as he was trying to figure out how to become the best physiotherapist he could be and the thought of owning a clinic on top of that just seemed to be too much. After much soul searching he decided to take the plunge. What changed his mind? His passion to provide clients with the quality of care that they deserved. An opportunity to truly listen to the clients needs, understand their concerns and help them through the recovery process and on the path to optimal health. These values hold true for us today and are stronger than ever.
